What an awesome week at NSW Senior State Age!!

January 27, 2022 by admin

Warringah had 43 swimmers competing over the 6 days and 6 nights at SOPAC.  There were a few hiccups along the way with some swimmers having to isolate due to Covid but overall, we were fortunate that the majority of our team were able to compete each day.  Each night we had a number of swimmers qualifying for the Finals sessions which kept everyone on their toes and the coaches very busy!

With the Piranhas powering down their lanes, PBs were getting smashed left, right and centre earning our swimmers medals and lots of National qualifying times.  It’s always a gruelling week but it was so rewarding to watch our Piranhas swim their hearts out and come together as a team.  The week ended on a crowd favourite, the 4 x 100m Medley Relay where we saw our boys leave everything in the pool to come from the back of the field to score the Bronze medal.

And lastly, thank you to the parents who volunteered many, many hours to help run this meet.  I’m proud to say there was at least one Piranha parent timekeeping on pool deck the entire meet!!

Well done Piranhas, you have made us all very, very proud!
