Piranhas at Jnr Metros

December 19, 2021 by admin

The last two days were spent at SOPAC with the Junior Piranhas competing at 2021 NSW Junior Metropolitan Championships.  We had 16 swimmers competing in 58 events and what a tremendous weekend they all had with 38 PBs!

Joce Melbourn was on fire all weekend with her massive 10 event program.  She earned herself 10 PBs, 5 Gold medals, 3 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals scoring herself a massive 317 individual points (to be confirmed…)

Gemma Sellick, Kester Jan, & Noah McLaren joined Joce on the winners dais.  Gemma earned herself 2 Gold medals (100m Back, 100m Breast) and 2 Silvers (50m Free and 100m Free) and 3 massive PBs.  Kester earned a bronze for the 100m Breast (also a nice PB), and Noah a bronze in the 100m Free.

Our other Top Ten Finalists included:

Jonty Jagger 100m Back
Kester Jan 50m Breast
Noah McLaren 200m Free and 50m Free
Jess Oakhill 50m Fly, 100m Free, 50m Free
Emily Ruff 100m Free, 100m Fly, 50m Free & 50m Fly

Congratulations team on such a wonderfully successful weekend at SOPAC!  Thanks to all the coaches for attending and looking after all the kids as well.
