Warringah Swimmers Shine with 2nd Place Finish at SMNE Aspire Cup!

An outstanding performance from the club’s youngest competitors

Warringah Aquatic’s rising stars made a big splash over the weekend, taking out 2nd place overall at the SMNE Aspire Cup – a short course development meet for swimmers aged 13 and under.

A team of 26 swimmers proudly represented Warringah, delivering an inspiring performance marked by 13 gold, 9 silver, and 9 bronze medals, along with a staggering 74 personal bests from 93 individual swims—an impressive 80% PB strike rate.

Skins Showdown: Speed, Stamina, and Grit

One of the weekend’s most exciting events was the Skins 50m freestyle knockout, featuring the fastest eight boys and girls in the 11 & Under and 12–13 years age categories. Swimmers competed through multiple elimination rounds, showcasing nerves of steel and serious speed.

Skins Highlights:

  • Hamza Haggag – Finalist (12–13 yrs)
  • Charlie Gower – Finalist (12–13 yrs)
  • Sophia Mills – 2nd Round (12–13 yrs)
  • Sarah Eastmead – 2nd Round (12–13 yrs)

A special congratulations goes to Atlas Goroglu, who triumphed in the 11 & Under Boys Skins, powering through four intense rounds to claim 1st place.

A Team to Watch

This meet marks a significant milestone for Warringah’s junior swimmers, who continue to build strong foundations through hard work, team spirit, and competitive drive.

Congratulations to all swimmers, coaches, and families involved — a phenomenal effort and a well-deserved 2nd place overall!
